Folioline is an invoicing tool. We keep only what is needed to create your invoices and keep the service safe.
What we store
The invoices you create — your business details, client details, line items, currency, totals, template and theme — plus your account email and the defaults saved on your profile.
Technical information
When an invoice is created, saved, emailed or its status changes, we record the time, the IP address and the browser user agent (which indicates browser, operating system and device type). This is used only to protect the service from abuse and fraud. Approximate location may be derived from the IP address where legally permitted. We never collect precise GPS location.
Cookies
We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in and, in guest mode, a single anonymous identifier cookie so your guest invoices can be saved temporarily. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
Guest data retention
Invoices created without an account are stored temporarily against an anonymous guest identifier and may be removed after a period of inactivity. Create an account if you want to keep them.
Security
All authentication and authorisation is enforced on the server. Access rules mean you can only read and change your own invoices. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and rate limits apply to invoice creation and email sending.
Your rights
You can view, edit, export (print or PDF) and delete your invoices at any time. Deleting your account from the profile page permanently removes your account and every invoice in it.
